It turns out that the reports Jackie Chan is doing a Rush Hour 4, as well as a second Karate Kid, are not true! Unfortunately for the fans, the actor himself denied signing on to appear in these two potential movies!
The disappointment is even bigger due to the fact that Chris Tucker sparked some reunion hope not too long ago. As you may know, during the weekend, Tucker took to social media to wish Jackie a happy 65th birthday in a very interesting way! More precisely, Chris Tucker posted a snap that showed the two former co-stars posing together and showing four fingers to the camera! Naturally, people were fast to start theorizing that Tucker was hinting at the fact that he and Jackie had reunited to work on a fourth installment of the beloved Rush Hour movies! What else could it have meant right? And that is not all! There have also been rumors that Jackie Chan had signed to reprise his 2010 Karate Kid role as well!
But now, in a statement shared by Jackie’s management company on his website, it was made very clear that neither of those projects is in the works. ‘We have noticed false information that Mr. Chan will act in the motion pictures Rush Hour 4 and Karate Kid 2 is spreading through social media platforms, and that apparently infringing parties have misappropriated the personal WeChat and e-mail accounts of Mr. Esmond Ren, a motion picture professional, to release false information concerning the hiring of a crew, casting, audition and other matters in connection with the films Rush Hour 4 and The Karate Kid 2,’ the message reads.
It then goes on to state, in part, that ‘on behalf of Mr. Chan, we declare that any such information, as spread by such infringers, relating to Mr. Chan providing acting services in the movies Rush Hour 4 and/or The Karate Kid 2 is false.’
